| The Parents' Perspective:
Many times we can sense what our baby needs. But what about those times when we are clueless and feel helpless? What if there were a way to understand why our baby is fussing before he or she could talk? Think of the spared frustration for both of you! Using signs is the perfect way to achieve early communication, grow closer to your child and get him or her excited about communicating and, eventually, talking!
Sign2Speak programs will introduce you to the philosophies of signing with infants and toddlers, give you a game plan to increase your confidence in approaching signing and get you and your child excited about early communication. You'll do all of this while having a fun time with your child and increasing your sign language vocabulary. The methods used, now brought to the world in the SIGN with your BABY program, teach parents how to empower their babies as young as eight months old with expressive communication skills. This system is gaining enthusiastic support not only from parents but from child development experts as well (see why sign?).
The Babies' Perspective:
Sign Language Empowers Hearing Babies to Express Their Needs! Why are songs like "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "The Wheels On The Bus" so popular among young children? Well, for one thing, the words are accompanied by dynamic hand and body motion. This motion not only makes the experience more memorable, but it actually gives young children the ability to participate before they can sing the words to the song. This principle has been taken one step further by early childhood development researcher Joseph Garcia who has developed a system to enable preverbal babies to express their needs and observations through sign language before they can speak.
Babies WANT to communicate and become very excited when they successfully do so. Help your child or children get an early start in their communication skills. They carry that excitement with them well past their early months and bring that confidence to other endeavors.
